What we stand for

Rockafairy is a gathering place where artists and creatives come together, fostering belonging and shared passion across the Rogue Valley.

We believe in the power of artistic expression to unite people. Ideas being exchanged means inspiration being ignited.

We aim to provide anyone with a drive to create the tools they need to do it. Lack of funds, space, and support hold back countless talented people, and we change that.

We champion the importance of arts and culture in society, supporting artists' growth and celebrating the life-changing potential of creativity.

Our story
Rockafairy started during the pandemic when founder Shane Ross came across a few instruments he didn't need anymore. Inspired by a Christmas gift drive, he began donating them to young musicians in need, partnering with Tom's Guitars in Medford to give them away.
What began with a couple of guitars grew to hundreds of instruments and accessories. So Shane leased a building, then another, and with tremendous community support, Rockafairy became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Today we're at home in the Rogue Valley Mall — open seven days a week, free for all — because we believe creative expression is a human need, not a luxury.

“What inspired me to go back at Rockafairy was that there is such good vibes. I feel free to express myself and open up more.”

Shane Ross is gifted a few instruments during the pandemic and begins donating them to young musicians via Tom's Guitars, Medford.
Hundreds of donations later, Rockafairy leases its first commercial space in downtown Medford and opens its doors to the community.
With incredible community support, Rockafairy earns 501(c)(3) status as a public benefit nonprofit serving the Rogue Valley.
Rockafairy moves to its current home at 1600 N. Riverside Ave., Medford — a bigger space for a growing creative community.
